Hello Hello Everyone.
If you haven't read this post (--click) yet...
Please read that prior to reading this otherwise, you'll be completely confused.
I mentioned in my previous post that I will ONLY be updating my blog about the exciting things going on in my personal private life...
With that being said I also would prefer to keep any of the questions or lovely comments addressing my personal life here, or in an email... or even a private inbox message.
I really do appreciate all the positive and loving comments you all have but I am begging you to keep my beauty videos focused on beauty only.
As you can imagine, off topic comments on a tutorial or haul video can cause a commotion.
And of course don't we all get sick of the negative ones?
Thus why all video comments are on approval lately ;)
------------------
Now for the update!
I know a lot of you are curious and generally concerned on how I've been.
A lot of my fellow expecting mama's or just mama's who are viewers/readers have been bonding with me through messages and it's lovely to hear from you all.
My last "update" was about a month ago.. give or take a week.
Time does fly doesn't it?
I am finishing up my 16 week of my pregnancy.
In 5 days I'll be exactly 4 months finished with this whole journey!
Almost half way there which is.. surreal of course.
I know the remaining 5 months will fly by so I'm trying to enjoy each moment.
At this time I STILL am unaware of the gender of my little one.
Sad, I know... but do not frown. I will know in less than two weeks from today!
Expect a mini update on September 15th :)
If your wondering what Alex & I are hoping for... we both want a girl :)
And 95% of our friends & families feel the same way.
With that being said, I think my little bundle is a boy LOL!
Alex & I are trying to keep the boy mind set so if it is a girl.. we can be surprised and excited
and if it is a boy then we can say... "I KNEW IT!" hahaha.
There are a million superstitions about determining the gender such as how the baby sits... and how the expecting mom feels the first trimester but none of them are 100% accurate.
And none of them are proven with scientific reasoning either so...
Only time will tell =P
I wish time would tell my impatient butt sooner but grrr... 13 more days.
First Movements:
Being 16 weeks I am approaching the time where I can start feeling the little one move.
The baby is around the size of a single piece of a kit kat bar so he/she is a little thing.
I officially felt the first kick last night!
September 1st - 11:42pm. Record that hehehe.
I was watching tv in bed and then I felt a kick against my hand.
(that was ironicaly in a good spot)
Imagine the... whoa face!
It brought back memories of when my niece would kick my face when my sister was pregnant.
I received one more little baby kick for Alex to feel and then no more!
The baby was soooo over it haha.
He being a guy who wants 24 kids back to back enjoys little moments like this more than you can imagine.
He begs the doctors to tell him there are triplets. I beg him to stop hahaha.
Body/Weight Changes Updates:
I know some of you are similar to my size and you want an idea of how you'll be when you are expecting.
Pregnancy is very different for everyone!
But I have no problem sharing my changes with you all.
For Reference: I'm naturally "underweight" on charts.. and I am 5'6 tall.
Prior to being pregnant I was roughly 88 - 88.5 lbs (pounds).
Yes I know, I'm "such a little thing"... I get that all of the time in public :D
Because I am underweight my doctors have a higher target weight gain goal for me than a usual person.
Usually 25-30lbs total is very normal. My doctor wants me to gain 40lbs at least.
Sorry doc... I don't think it's going to happen! I think I'll top off at 25lbs but we shall see.
I do eat the required amounts a day.. and then some!
But my body isn't a huge fan of.. holding on to weight =/
As long as the baby is healthy and happy that is all that matters.
The nation's average for the first trimester weight gain wise is usually 4-6 pounds.
I actually didn't gain any weight at all my first three months.
Now finishing up my fourth month I have now gain a pound.
So I am currently 89.5-90lbs depending on time of day.
And because of that.. I do not have an amazingly round baby bump to show you all :(
I know... booooooooo.
BUT I will take a picture on the 15th to show you all during the gender announcement.
Since I have only gain a pound a lot of people give me a O____O face when they hear that I am 4 months pregnant!
It's hilarious!!!! LOL They think it's a joke or something.
I'm lucky though... no facial chub from what I can tell!
To the person who said I look fat in the face online a month ago... you were just hyping things :P I literally have gained 1 pound THIS WEEK. More specifically in the past three days.
Clothes wise: I still fit my clothes perfectly fine...
I can still fit my size 0 (24/25 waist skinny jeans) but I prefer to wear size 1 just so I can eat with no worries about comfort.
I do not plan on buying any expensive maternity skinny jeans..
I'd rather wear a belly band or borrow my sister's skinnies when needed which are a size 3.
I prefer to wear sweats to school anyways (no needed to impress) so all is good!
Shirt size is still "Small".
I try not to buy any new X-Small because the boobs are a little snug though everything else fits.
My boobs (I can't believe we are talking about boobs) are usually right between an full A-Cup & small B-Cup.
They are currently getting a bit bigger... so now I am much closer to a full B-cup.
I don't mind because I am planning to breastfeed and... having boobs for a bit isn't horrible haha.
School Updates:
I have just finished up my first week of my second year.
Classes are going well.
I'm taking, organic chemistry lab.. microeconomics, college level physics & a tech class :)
I have class 4/5 days a week and I've been having a great time snacking like a pig between classes.
I sleep around 10-11 hours every day which is perfectly fine because I'm already super happy with 6 lol
I've cut down my commute time from 30-45 mins to 5-7 mins because Alex's house is literally 6-7 lights away from my college.
Very convient.. it allows me to sleep in more (to get that.. "needed" rest for the baby to develop) and have easy access to the house if I forget or need something.
Then on weekends I go back to the Maryland house because I miss my niece, sister and my rents and well.. we are just that close. Plus you can't beat my mom's homecooking :D
Other Changes:
I'm not sure if I mentioned before but I am also in the process of moving into a new condo that is even closer to my college. Literally 2-3 lights away. So my drive would be.. 3 minutes haha.
Still close enough to Alex's current house where his gmama is.
His grandmother babysits a few kids during the daytime (as a job) and she is also our future babysitter when I go back to class full time next May.
(Alex works full time for the government.. 9-5 Mon through Fri)
Very convient ehh? Gotta love asian families.. there is always someone who wants to steal your kids from you. Literally, steal.
I've witnessed my own mother yank my niece from my sister hands multiple times to feed, change or bathe her. For no reason but her love of being a grandmama.
My mom is pushing 60 too... so it's that time ya know?
The last big change is... a car change!
If you are a viewer of my vlog channel, you've probably seen clips of me riding in Alex's car.
Though he loves his car, it is a modified Subaru and if you have no clue what that means... it means, it's loud & shaky enough to damage your ears. Especially if your a baby.
My car? Being a 2010 Toyota Camry.. is super smooth and quiet so I figured we'd use my car for most of the baby's transporting.
But Alex being the car lover he is... is bored of his car now that it has been around for a little over two years.
And he is trading in his car this month for the mommy mobile I've always wanted!
So let's all say bye bye to his 2008 Subaru STI which he named.. Victoria.
(this is actually his car in this pic)

And hello to a very gently used (he refuses to buy any car new)
Supercharged Range Rover Sport.
Which he is naming Vanessa.

Black on Black Leather! :D
It's gorgeous, we test drove it the other day and he is beyond excited to take it home.
Down right giddy!!
It is actually faster than his STI so you can imagine how happy he is.
It is pushing 400 Horsepower because it is a supercharger... -_- lovely family car LOL
& That is about it for this update!
No new wedding info because it just isn't as fun without showing you all the pictures of cakes, flowers, jewelry, and my dress... which I can't do yet just in case Alex accidentally comes across the pictures of my dress!
I hope you all enjoyed this update!
Talk to you all again about these topics soon :)
P.S --------Place your gender guesses right now!
Since the next update will be the big reveal!!!!!!

thanks for the update. i cannot believe you are still skinny. when i was pregnant with my boys, i gained over the average amt of 25-30, i went over 50. hahaha. im so jealous. im guessing you will have a boy. i dunno why but lots of asians have boys first plus i have all 3 boys so yeah. oh and nothing wrong with having a little cleavage. hahahaha, its good you will be breastfeeding, good for u and baby.
ReplyDeleteim currently 35 weeks pregnant and have gain 30 lbs. im 5'3 and was 130 lbs before i got pregnant. you'll be very lucky if you dont gain those 40 lol cus everyone tells me i look way smaller than the time i actually have, which is odd cus in the mirror i look huuuge.
ReplyDeleteregardless, the most important thing is that u and ur baby are healthy. i hope u have a good rest of ur pregnancy. luckily mines been great. no side effects other than some acid reflexes and really bad acne and back pain. no vomitting yet!
but congratulations, :D and your mommy car is my dream car! i just cant afford it :( lol
have fun!!
wow that's super close from Alex's house and your new place to your school. Wouldn't you consider walking to school is it's that close? save the headache of finding parking and paying for the parking permit?
ReplyDeleteI feel like now a days everyone's first baby is a girl! so I think it's going to be a boy just because your baby is like nuh uh!
Maritza - it's super close driving wise (especially if you step on it as I tend to do for class)... but it would literally be a 4-5 mile walk each way haha... I can't do it. It's very close but not actually on the same road as my school though. The connivence of parking and being able to come and go regardless of rain or snow (etc etc) can't be beat. Luckily my over priced parking pass guarantees me a spot in my garage rather than fighting for spots in a general lot like the cheaper passes.
ReplyDeleteMy guess.. probably a baby boy. ^_^ ! Btw Did you and alex decided on what to name the baby?
ReplyDeleteIt's a girl! And her name will be...Stila LMAO
ReplyDeleteawwww i am so excited for you two. congrats love. sounds like you guys already have everything figured out plus all the family support. awww i cant wait till you have the baby and all the baby bump update heheee
ReplyDeleteAww I didn't gain much weight the first trimester I lost lol due to morning sickness. And if you think your boobs are big now wait till your milk comes in the babies get HUGE!!!!! But they eventually find a stable size when your breastfeeding schedule becomes regular. But the joys of getting ready for a new baby are wonderful although we didn't get a family vehicle until my daughter was 7 months which was long over due but so appreciated when received. And @ Alex good job never buying new we don't believe in it either buying used is the way to go you just have to do your research. Congrats again =)
ReplyDeleteAnna - We only have a named planned out for a boy... which I shall announce if it is a boy LOL Girl names can get crazy spelling and pronunciation wise so we haven't settled on one yet. If it ends up being a boy we won't have to go through the challenge of coming up with a unique yet pronounceable girl name haha.
ReplyDeleteBritany - Haha yeah everyone always gives me the Stila joke :P But naaaah... I wish I didn't name Nila... Nila because I would have used that. We plan on getting a dog and naming it Lilo or something like that but baby name wise it won't rhyme with the pets though I love them like kids already.
I am soo happy for you Sam! Everything is going great for you, I wish you the best from the bottom of my heart! I have a 3 month old baby boy and I know how much of a blessing it is to be a mother. As to the gender of your little one, I have a feeling it will be a boy. Good luck! :D
ReplyDeleteaw, congrats! I read your blog post before, but I never had the chance to say congrats so im saying it now! Im really happy for you and I wish you and your new family a gooood luck! I like how your family is very stable and calm! if it was my parents, I think they'll be freaking out and I'd be dead LOLL! and I think its a boy (:
ReplyDeleteCongrats love! Wonderful.... family car that is. lol. The horsepower is crazy for a family car but I guess... boys will be boys. haha. I got the same ride as you my dear ;] in red! mwahahaha. I like "Victoria."
ReplyDeleteFirst off thank you for telling me how to view your blog with iPad! Lol I am so happy about that... And YAY!!! I cannot believe you are almost 4 months that is amazing!!! And you are a little thing only gaining a pound lol how great would that be =D
ReplyDeleteNew condo new car, AWESOME!! you will love it! I wish I had that nice of a vehicle! Enjoy it it is gorgeous:)
I am very excited to hear what you are having...I think it's a boy! But maybe the next one will be a girl ;)
Aw, it's great to hear you're doing great & that you're planning on breast feeding. My women's health prof. is like an advocate for breast feeding, hah. Plus the vitamins in your milk will be really great for your baby's brain. But I'm sure your baby will already be smart. You breast milk will just help enhance their intellect :) Can't wait to see your baby bump!
ReplyDeleteHope it's a girl!
ReplyDeleteWEEE I love that you update us on this : D I'm so happy that you're doing well! I can't believe you only gained a pound.. Dannngg girl! I hope I'm reborn with YOUR genetics in my next life.. lol.
ReplyDeleteGood luck on the scan : D and you guys have amazing taste in wheels : P just sayin'.. Haha!
thanks for this update! i enjoyed reading every bit lol. and as for my guess...i hope its a girl like you us wanted! & i hope to see a family picture in the future :)
ReplyDeleteHi Sam! First found out about ur pregnancy thru ur recent tweet and we spoke for a bit thru twitter about it. sooo excited im currently entering my 3rd week of pregnancy myself. the hubby and i have been trying since Jan. and now we re happily preggors. He doesnt want to tell any family members or close friends yet about the pregnancy not until we get the ultrasound. kinda disappointed becuz im very impatient and just want to get the news out alrdy LOL. based on my babycenter app im due in around end of April/May 2012. so excited. please keep updating about ur progress on ur blog. i would love to see how ur experience is so that i dont feel so alone or confused with my own progression. some stuff im concerned with would be the weight gain for one...im 5'3" 3/4 prolly 5'4" 103lbs. hopefully i gain the normal 25-30 lbs. but i do eat alot without restraint when i want to so hopefully i can keep myself from the 40-50lb mark eek! another would be stress...i stress pretty easily due to my childhood and such. i want our baby to be born into a stress free environment. the hubby is doing all he can to help me stay happy and relaxed. lastly i hope that i dont experience any of that postpartum syndrome stuff. i heard that can really dampen a relationship within the first few years after childbirth. but we ll see. im excited to see how things go and will due my best to remain focused thru out this experience. ur fiance sounds like an amazing person btw. quick question was this planned? or did it just happened? =) best wishes to you and your family
ReplyDeleteUpdate! Hehehee is it weird that I'm so happy <3 xp My guess a cute boy so I can go 'I knew it' too~ I loves loves loves the new Rover. My future dream car hahaaa. Take it easy <3
ReplyDeleteCongrats on being pregnant. I am so happy for you. You are going to be a great mom. Usually a mom knows what she is having. If your instincts say its a girl then most likely it is. If you are craving a lot of foods that ALex likes then it is a boy. LOL!! So happy for you. Being a mom is the best. Good Luck!!
ReplyDeleteWoa! This update was super extensive but I'm glad all is well with you and the bambino =)Hopefully you move before it gets too cold. Moving in the heat is one thing but the cold and rain is something entirely different =/. I'll be back on the 15th fa sho! <3
ReplyDeleteIm so excited to find out what your baby is going to be, cant wait! (; hoping its a little girl ;)
ReplyDeletemy dad drives a supercharged range rover sport (black on black as well)!! its actually quite comfy and greatttt for going on vacation. haha though i must say it is a little bulky but im sure adjusting to it wont take long at all. especially because you two already love it! congratsss again and thanks for updating us! <3
ReplyDeletei'm hoping its a girl!! how cute would that be? you guys could go shopping and buy her cute clothes and eek! but if he's a boy, alex can get him started on cars early! hahaha
ReplyDeleteWow! thanks for the update. Keep well and the car looks great!
